PaaS — Process as a Service

Navigating Nepal's bureaucracy, simplified.

The Problem

Navigating government services in Nepal is notoriously complex. Citizens face language barriers, confusing paperwork, and a lack of clear, step-by-step guidance. Most government information is scattered, outdated, or only available in English, making it hard for everyday people to access the services they need.

What They Built

PaaS is a centralized government information portal designed to make public services accessible to everyone. The platform provides bilingual (English/नेपाली) guidance for hundreds of government processes, with dynamic checklists, document requirements, and estimated timelines. Users can search for services, follow multi-step guides, and even use voice commands for information discovery. The system features role-based access for citizens, employees, and super admins, with a feedback system, audit trails, and Google Maps integration for office locations. The architecture combines a Vite + React frontend, a FastAPI backend, and a PostgreSQL database, all containerized for easy deployment.

Impact

PaaS delivered a working demo that let users search, follow, and complete government processes in their own language, with voice-enabled help and real-time feedback. The project demonstrated how modern tech can cut through bureaucracy, empower citizens, and set a new standard for digital government in Nepal.
